Terms of Use

Use CALLIOPE as assessment support, not as a replacement for human judgment.

Last updated: 11 May 2026. These terms summarize the rules for using CALLIOPE transcripts, media uploads, AI features, collaboration, and educational pilots.

1. Service use

CALLIOPE provides assessment transcripts, uploads, collaboration, AI-assisted review, media analysis, feedback, and educational workflow tools. You may use CALLIOPE only if you can lawfully agree to these terms or are using it through an authorized school, institution, parent, guardian, or educator arrangement.

Institutional pilots, paid plans, data processing agreements, or school agreements may add terms that apply to a particular deployment.

2. Accounts

  • Provide accurate registration information.
  • Keep passwords and access credentials confidential.
  • Use the role that best reflects your actual use: learner, educator, researcher, or administrator.
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Respectful assessment

Use CALLIOPE for constructive oral assessment, reflection, communication evaluation, and educational feedback. Do not harass, threaten, shame, or impersonate others.

Rights to upload

Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to use. Take extra care with student work, client work, copyrighted media, and confidential projects.

Human oversight

AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Users and educators remain responsible for final evaluation, assessment, and grading decisions.

3. User content and ownership

You retain ownership of your original transcripts, uploads, comments, prompts, assessment work, and creative outputs. By using CALLIOPE, you grant us a limited license to host, process, display, transmit, transform, and store your content only to provide the service, support collaboration, apply safety controls, maintain records, and comply with law.

If you share an oral transcript, invite reviewers, publish content, or submit a project to an educator, reviewer, jury, institution, gallery, or research activity, that content may be visible to the people or roles involved in that workflow.

4. AI outputs

CALLIOPE may generate assessment comments, summaries, images, prompts, clusters, tags, recommendations, or analytics. AI outputs are provided for support and exploration. They are not professional, legal, safety, engineering, architectural, academic, or assessment advice unless independently reviewed by a qualified person.

You are responsible for checking AI outputs before relying on them or sharing them outside CALLIOPE.

5. Prohibited use

  • Do not use CALLIOPE for unlawful, harmful, abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, or privacy-invasive activity.
  • Do not upload malware, exploit code, unauthorized recordings, or content that violates others' rights.
  • Do not attempt to bypass billing, access controls, rate limits, storage limits, safety systems, or platform restrictions.
  • Do not use anonymous or pseudonymous modes to evade educator governance, investigation, or moderation.
  • Do not use CALLIOPE to make high-stakes decisions without human review.

6. Privacy and consent

Your use is subject to the Privacy Policy. Registration requires acceptance of these terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy. Research participation, case-study use, public showcase use, or identifiable publication use requires separate consent where applicable.

7. Credits, plans, and changes

Some features may require credits, paid plans, institutional access, or usage limits. We may update features, prices, limits, models, or availability. If a feature is experimental, beta, pilot-only, or dependent on third-party providers, it may change or be unavailable without notice.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts, projects, uploads, or access where necessary to protect users, comply with law, enforce these terms, investigate abuse, resolve security issues, or manage service integrity. You may stop using CALLIOPE and request account deletion subject to lawful retention needs.

9. Disclaimers and liability

CALLIOPE is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free AI output, perfect media processing, or suitability for every classroom, assessment, or research context.
